Our client, a leading UK partner, is recruiting Dynamics AX consultants accross the UK. These are varied and demanding roles involving all aspects of implementing Microsoft Dynamics AX solutions from pre-sales prototype work through the project life-cycle to go-live and on-going support.
Your involvment with our client’s customers will include off-site and on-site work and you will be encouraged to develop your Microsoft Dynamics AX knowledge and achieve relevant certifications.
There are currently three openings (see job descriptions below):
– Microsoft Dynamics AX Finance consultant
– Microsoft Dynamics AX Trade and Logistics consultant
– Microsoft Dynamics AX Pre-sales consultant
Working environment:
The role will require national and international travel and will require you to work independently or as part of a larger project team. It will be based at customer site and at our client’s offices in London.
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30pm Mon – Fri, with one hour for lunch
Holiday: 25 days per annum, plus UK public holidays
Probationary period: 3 months, followed by formal review

Microsoft Dynamics AX Finance consultant
Your day to day tasks will include:
- Delighting clients with exceptional customer service
- Pre-sales assistance when required
- Implementation planning and the delivery of value added work, to scope, deadline and budget
- Running client workshops on business processes, business requirements and system design
- Business and systems analysis and documentation
- Product design and gap analysis to standard product functionality
- Production of design, system, user and procedural documentation
- Application configuration and setup
- Provide system training to both internal and external clients
- Development and delivery of testing strategies
- Liaising with on-shore and off-shore development teams to deliver robust solutions on time
- Managing change control
- Design and execution of data migration strategies
- Go-live and post-live support
- Ad-hoc tasks as and when required by your team lead.
Technical skills and experience:
- 3+ years of finance business experience.
- Previous experience of AX software
- Required to demonstrate credibility with clients and quickly understand how the products will add value to the services
- Proven consulting experience.
- Good listening skills, with the ability to quickly resolve problems, action solutions with the ability to work under pressure
- Understanding and assimilating information from various sources
- Being able to recognize and deal with conflict or sensitive situations
- Commercial awareness and total dedication to delivering maximum return on investment for our clients
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve professional success in a team based consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience implementing the finance functionality within AX (including project accounting and inventory valuation
- Accounting qualifications are of great benefit but not necessarily essential
- Experience designing and coordinating multi-site or multi-national implementations
- Microsoft Dynamics AX accreditation.
Personal skills

- Fluency in English both written and verbal.

Microsoft Dynamics AX Pre-sales consultant
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify, understand and define client needs, objectives and business drivers and design a solution that can best meet the clients’ requirements
- Develop presentation material and demonstration scenarios for sales presentations
- Demonstrate the value of the solution (not just the functionality)
- Build a strong working relationship with the sales & technical teams
- Support prioritised sales cycles, helping with strategy, competitive positioning, demonstrations and presentations
- Actively support the sales teams in promoting and identifying solutions, articulating functional fit and completeness, responding to bid cycles, to the clients requests for information and information to tender
- Contribute to pipeline and revenue increase, through participation and coordination of demand generation activities, including customer workshops, tradeshows and company events
- Communicate the business requirements to the project/implementation team after completion of the sale, to ensure a smooth transition from presales to implementation stages
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and assist with initial implementation phase activities and project quality assurance
- Possess strong sense of teamwork, integrity, self-motivation, positive attitude, and works to solve problems
- Stay up to date with new trends within MS Dynamics, AX and the IT industry as a whole
- Attend industry seminars and events to maintain own up to date knowledge of industry
Candidate requirements:
- University Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a client facing role as a Project Manager, Consultant, Systems Analyst, or in Presales
- Experience with MS Dynamics AX in presales, project management, consulting or implementation roles
- Understanding of sales cycle, client motives and buying criteria
- Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of presenting to group sizes from 2 – 30 people at all levels in the client organisation, from Senior Director to support staff, to technical & non-technical audience, in the public or private sector
- Strong analytical, problem solving and process and solution oriented abilities
- Ability to partner across various functional groups including account executives, professional services, product development, marketing and strategic partners
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams
- Willingness to take responsibility and drive engagements
- Capable of utilising strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with clients and your team
- Client and sales focus with the ability to influence prospects
